Abstract

Max Planck won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1918 "in recognition of the services he rendered to the advancement of Physics by his discovery of energy quanta." Planck made many contributions in the areas of thermodynamics and heat radiation, but his discovery of quantum theory is his best-known work. This discovery greatly impacted the field of physics.
