Biography

Abstract

Arthur Poskanzer is Distinguished Senior Scientist Emeritus at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (2001-present). Other institutional affiliations include Brookhaven National Laboratory. His research interests include relativistic nuclear collisions, including the discovery of collective flow of nuclear matter and of elliptic flow at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider; high energy proton-nucleus reactions; and the discovery of many isoptopes far from stability.
