Abstract

David Shirley was the Director of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (1980-1989). Other institutional affiliations include University of California Berkeley and Pennsylvania State University. His research interests include synchrotron radiation, surface science, and the electronic structure of atoms and molecules.
