Institutional History

Abstract

In 1995, the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory was officially designated a national laboratory and was renamed the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. The laboratory is supported by the United States Department of Energy and is managed by the University of California and is charged with conducting unclassified research across a wide range of scientific disciplines.
