Biography

Abstract

Burton Moyer was Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Oregon (1970-1973). Other institutional affiliations included University of California, Berkeley and Greeneville College (Illinois). His research in high energy, particle and nuclear physics included the discovery of the neutral pi meson. Additionally, Moyer directed the Health Physics activities at Berkeley (1947-1970), which led to understandings of radiation protection problems associated with particle accelerators.
