Abstract

Stanton Peale was Professor Emeritus and Research Professor of Physics at University of California, Santa Barbara (1994-2015). Other institutional affiliations included University of California, Los Angeles, and Cornell University. His research interests included small particles in space, dynamics of planetary spins, tidal evolution, nature of the planetary interiors, star formation and the origin of the solar systen, and small bodies in the solar system.
