Abstract

William Mullins was University Professor of Applied Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University. Other institutional affiliations included Westinghouse Electric Corporation. His research interests included grain-boundary motion, thermal grooving, surface melting, scratch decay on surfaces,thermodynamics of crystalline solids, and energy barriers for shape changes of crystals with facets and nonequilibrium morphologies.
