Abstract

The Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company was founded by George Westinghouse in 1889. The main function of the company was to develop and produce apparatus for the generation, transmission and application of alternating current electricity. In 1945, it was renamed the Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
