Blueprints, books, calculations, charts, clippings, correspondence, technical drawings, and shop sketches, graphs, notes and typescript notebooks, patents, photograph album, photographs, placques, reports, tables, and graphs, all relating to Goddard's rocket research and testing work as well as his experimental work on liquid fuels for rocket propulsion. Goddard's technical notes are contained in a 23-volume set of typescript notebooks consisting of his records and notes on his experiments in developing the liquid-propelled rocket (August 1929-Fall 1943). These were typed by his wife Esther, after his death, from his original notes which she copied exactly, even when the meaning was "not quite clear." [The first eight volumes containing hundreds of photographs, graphs, and drawing were written in August 1929 after the widely publicized flight of July 17, 1929. Collectively they are Goddard's summary of his work with liquid fuels for rocket propulsion. Herein, he presents his earliest ideas which were frequently revised as his research progressed. The later volumes cover various tests conducted from July 28, 1937 to Oct. 10, 1941. Volumes VII-XVIII describe various tests conducted in New Mexico, 1934-1940.] The notebooks include: Vols.
