Peed, Mansfield Theodore, 1857-1925
Mansfield Theodore Peed family papers, 1894-1963.
The collection consists of papers of the Mansfield Theodore Peed family. The papers include Peed's school notebooks, textbooks, and some of his writings; correspondence pertaining to his teaching position in mathematics and astronomy at Emory College (Oxford, Ga.) and at Emory University (Atlanta, Ga.); and Peed's letters to his wife, Ann Fulton Peed. The papers also contain diplomas, certificates, family photographs, miscellaneous papers, and correspondence to Peed's daughters, Virginia Hamilton Peed and Eugenia Peed Erwin, and to his grandson, Jack Erwin. The collection also contains correspondence related to the Palmer Institute and the Southern Commercial Teachers Association.
American educator. Graduated from Randolph-Macon College (1878). He taught mathematics and astronomy at Emory College and Emory University (1889-1925).
