The New Hampshire Academy of Science (NHAS) collection primarily contains correspondence, information pertaining to the NHAS annual meeting, newsletters, and materials published by the Academy from 1919 to 1953.
Founded May 24, 1919 as a result of a plan by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. The primary objectives of the Academy included advancing "the cause of pure and applied science and of scientific research with emphasis on their relation to practical affairs," cooperating "with educational institutions of the state for the improvement of scientific education," and encouraging "a closer union between science and industry."
