Historical Note
The American Institute of Physics (AIP) is a not-for-profit membership corporation chartered in New York State in 1931 for the purpose of promoting the advancement and diffusion of the knowledge of physics and its application to human welfare. Its members are leading societies in the fields of physics and astronomy, and its activities include providing services to its member societies in publishing, finance, and education. Physics Today is AIP's flagship monthly magazine designed to foster unity and communication among physicists and to provide full news coverage of physics and related sciences. The Industrial Physicist provides information useful to industrial physicists in work and career, and promotes their image and addresses broader policy issues affecting their lives.
Scope and Contents of Collection
The collection contains miscellaneous publications printed by the American Institute of Physics (AIP) Physics Today Division for its customers, and includes brochures, supplements from the magazine (including annual reports), rate cards and marketing materials from Physics Today and the Industrial Physicist.
