Charles Y. Johnson collection, 1947-1977.
The collection consists of a variety of material relating to experiments performed at Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) including cosmic ray physics, rocket instrumentation, and the Aerobee and Lagopedo projects. Included are reports, photographs, transparencies, rolled data and 167 glass slides.
Physicist. Began his service with the Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, D.C. in 1942. He served with the Laboratory for many years, first with the Rocket Sonde Branch, and later with the Upper Air Physics Branch, where he became head of the Aeronomy Section.
