Profesor Richard H. Rapp (1937-) was a professor of geodetic science at The Ohio State University, having joined the faculty in 1964. Rapp's work focuses on the earth's gravity field and earth measurement. In 1965 he won the Weikko and Karrina Heiskanan Award and in 1979 was elected a fellow of the American Geophysical Union. In 1991, Professor Rapp used the Ohio Supercomputer Center to process data from several million points on the earth to determine within eight inches the position of a Geosat satellite.
