Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia records, 1877.
A petition signed by eleven members of the Academy was presented, requesting permission to set up a physics and chemistry section. This request was granted by the Council, Feb. 13, 1877. One meeting was held on March 2nd and a memo sent to the Academy signed by H. C. Lewis as temporary recorder, announcing the second Thursday for monthly meetings.
