Tajima, Eizo, 1913-
Eizo Tajima response to 1981 History of Nuclear Physics Survey, 1982.
Five-page handwritten response to questionnaire which discusses Tajima's joining of Yoshio Nishina's Laboratory in 1938, his construction of a 60" cyclotron during World War II, his work at the University of Chicago from 1949, his professorship at St. Paul's University, Tokyo (1951-1978), and the impact of Nishina on his career. Recipients were asked to discuss their entry into a scientific career in general and nuclear physics in particular, their work during the Second World War, their scientific achievments, the funding of their projects, the roles of related sciences--especially high energy physics--in their research, their work as educators, their perceptions of the public's attitude towards science, and their involvement in physics-related organizations.
