Kittel discusses his education at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge University, and University of Wisconsin; his work at Naval Ordnance Laboratory, Bell Laboratories, and the University of California, Berkeley, especially on ferromagnetism; comments on interactions with many other solid state physicists; and describes his World War II work with the Submarine Operations Research Group (SORG). The post-1960 period is only briefly mentioned. File also includes various documents relating to Kittel and a bibliography.
