The manuscript describes Gemant's early training; his study in Berlin; his work at the physical laboratory of the Siemens-Schuckert Cable Co.; time as a privatdozent at Technische UniversittĖƒ, Berlin; his work at Heinrich-Hertz Institute Laboratory; how the Nazis forced him to England; work at Oxford University, University of Wisconsin, and Detroit Edison Co.; his interest in the arts; and work for Grace Hospital.
Gemant died in 1983.
