Administrative papers, manuscripts of final reports, photocopies, correspondence, reprints and other materials constituting the survey of papers of British scientists.
Survey of private and institutional holdings of British scientific archives authored by Roy M. MacLeod and James R. Friday. Subjects were British scientists living between 1870 and 1950, who were born before and died after 1890. This project received initial funding in 1969-1970 from the Social Science Research Council. Subsequently, the Royal Society funded additional efforts to survey Fellows of the Royal Society who were elected between 1848 and 1939, and listed in the "Record of the Royal Society", published in 1940.
