Carl Barus papers, 1891-1893.
These papers consist of a typescript of the article prepared by Barus and a copy of an 1891 report by the Great Britain Board of Trade Committee on the subject.
In March of 1893, Samuel P. Langley, Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution, asked Carl Barus (1856-1935), then with the United States Weather Bureau, to prepare a short article concerning the adoption of the international electrical standards proposed by the Great Britain Board of Trade in 1893.
