Consists primarily of letters by Henry, who was a professor of natural history (1832-1848) and a trustee (1864) at Princeton, and secretary and director of the Smithsonian Institution (1848-1878). Included are letters by him (95), documents (4), and numerous photostats of Joseph Henry letters in institutions other than Princeton, such as the Smithsonian Institution.
