Correspondence, notes, lectures, articles, clippings. Contains correspondence (bulk dates 1933-1955) from the periods he was at Oxford, Graz, and then back in Vienna. Topics include his professional interests, particularly quantum theory, also the Einstein paradox and the political situation in Austria after World War II. Papers (bulk dates 1924-1955) are primarily professional including lectures, notebooks and popular writings relating to quantum theory and wave mechanics. Also includes material on his appointments and his winning of the Nobel Prize, course materials from the Universitt̃ Graz, and offprints collected by him with his notes on the work of others. Correspondents include: Max Born, Albert Einstein, Max von Laue, A. Majer, Lise Meitner, Wolfgang Pauli, Max Planck, Karl Popper, A. Proca, J. L. Synge, and Hans Thirring. Materials on reel 92 selected by Linda Wessels. Selections made for reels 37, 39-44 emphasize correspondence and retrospective or philosophical writings. A list of materials not filmed appears at the beginning of each reel. Materials on reel 46 comprise papers that appear to date from before the 1940s, with the exception of late notebooks for which the cover and first page only were copied.
