James Franck papers, 1882-1966.
Collection includes correspondence and manuscripts, mostly pertaining to James Franck's work on photosynthesis in the 1950s and 1960s, but also including the notebooks (1911-1914) recording his experiments with Gustav Hertz and laboratory notebooks (1919-1920) documenting his work with Paul Knipping. In addition, there are numerous photographs, a 20-minute taped interview by Weldon Brown of Franck's recollections of the early years of quantum physics, and a recording of the Franck Memorial Symposium at the University of Chicago. Also includes correspondence with Hilde Levi (1935-1961).
