Chronicles Buttner's career in radio and electronics engineering, including his WWI work with the Naval Dept. on arc continuous wave generators; his work as an engineer with Bell Telephone Laboratories; and his subsequent associations with International Marine Radio Corp. (England), ITT, Federal Telecommunications Laboratories, and Hewlett-Packard. Also includes an account of his undergraduate career in electrical engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, and his association with Charles Litton of Litton Laboratories.
