Covers his World War II research at Los Alamos and his postwar directorship, including relations between the Laboratory and the University of California and the Atomic Energy Commission, and various postwar research programs. Volume II: Interview with John Manley. Comments on research in neutron physics; wartime and post-war association with weapons projects at Los Alamos, including his duties as associate technical director and as secretary to the General Advisory Committee of the Atomic Energy Commission. Volume III: Interviews with Darol K. Froman, J. Carson Mark and Raemer E. Schreiber, covering their wartime research at Los Alamos, postwar organization of the Laboratory and development of the hydrogen bomb and contracts between Los Alamos and the Lawrence Livermore Laboratory.
