Harald Bohr's outstanding contribution to mathematics was his conception of almost periodic functions, which he defined and studied in three great papers published in Acta mathematica in 1924-1926, and which formed the brillian conculsion of his prolonged investigation of the Dirichlet series and the functions represented by such series.
