Included are excerpts and copies of letters written by Upton's mother relating incidents of Upton's boyhood and describing life in the Colorado grain country of the 1880s and 1890s; genealogical notes on the Burr family; two family bibles; a letter (2 pp.) to Upton's uncle, George Lincoln Burr; a poem written by Mrs. Upton; and a travelogue in the form of letters, including observations on animal life, botanical subjects, and geological features on a coast-to-coast automobile trip taken by Professor and Mrs. Upton (1930).
