Includes a bound volume of Richard's extensive handwritten notes and lab reports from a physics course taught by Oscar M. Stewart at the University of Missouri in 1902-1904; handwritten course notes from "Kinetic Theory of Gases" taught by L. R. Ingersoll at the University of Wisconsin in 1928; and a volume of Richard's poetry with biographical notes compiled by his son, Hugh T. Richards.
Engineer and western pioneer. After being educated at Park College (Missouri) and the University of Missouri, he settled on a ranch in Colorado, and later taught physics, calculus, and engineering at Wisconsin State School of Mines.
