Lawrence on theory of cyclotron and proton-proton scattering; and social relations around the Radiation Laboratory and Berkeley physics department from 1933 to 1940. He was also highly regarded as a lecturer and teacher of physics and historian of world affairs relating to the developing uses of atomic energy.
