Early work at Harvard University with Dorcus; postdoctoral study at University of Munich and visit to Cambridge, 1922-1923; knowledge of Manhattan Project; activities at Rice University and Reed College, radiochemistry work, inception and development of Oregon education programs in use of radioisotopes with Chih Wang, growth of Civil Defense training programs, work at Brookhaven National Laboratory, University College, and in Washington, D.C. while on leave, 1958-1964; establishment of first subcritical reactor in Oregon, 1956-1957, proposals, funding, staff and construction of Reed reactor completed 1968; political activities in Oregon on behalf of radiological defense.
