Carreker, Roland P.
Roland Carreker papers, 1948-1984.
The Carreker papers contain a mixture of the working papers of Roland Carreker. The focus is on his work with copper and the copper dip forming process, about which Carreker had several patents.
Roland Carreker received his BS in 1945 and his MS in 1947, both from from the University in Illinois. He joined General Electric upon graduating and through a GE educational program he received his Ph.D.in metallurgical engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1955. During his career at GE he served as a Research Associate specializing in metals and metal fatigue, and as a Manager of Materials Resource Analysis involved with materials procurement and forecasting the price and availability of metals.
