Krystyna Jaworowska papers, 1855-1998.
The collection consists of the material Jaworowska amassed as a member of the Physics and Astonomy Departments at Smith College from 1967 to 1987. Included are papers and lab experiments she read for research (some dating back to the nineteenth century), department files, photographs, star charts, correspondence, Smith College Observatory Notices (SCON), and extensive listings of women astronomers.
Krystyna Jaworowska received her education at the University of Warsaw, Poland, concentrating in meteorology and working at the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology in Warsaw. Jaworowska came to the U.S. in 1964, first to Cornell University, then the University of Indiana, and then to Smith in 1967.
