This photograph collection contains images from the early 1930s through the early 1970s. The majority of photographs are of Bainbridge's colleagues at laboratories, academic institutions, and professional conferences. Some, but not all, of those photographs were taken by Bainbridge. Notable locations include Los Alamos, the Cavendish Laboratory, the Max Planck Insitut fur Chemie, the Lyman Laboratory of Physics, and the Radiation Laboratory at the Massachussetts Institute of Technology. A few portraits of Bainbridge are included, and a small number of photographs were taken by Ernest D. Wallis of Los Alamos and the Trinity Test. Notable scientists that appear in this collection include I. I. Rabi, Enrico Fermi, Frederick A. Saunders, Werner Heisenberg, Ernest Rutherford, F. W. Loomis, Francis W. Aston, Charles Thomson Rees Wilson, J. J. Thomson, Alfred O. Nier, P. W. Bridgman, Edmund M. Purcell, J. Robert Oppenheimer, and Sir John Cockcroft.
