This collection contains correspondence and manuscript materials related to Banesh Hoffmanns personal and professional life. It also contains many published works written by or about him, including newspaper and periodical articles, academic journal publications, and books. Includes 16mm film reels and cassette tapes.
Banesh Hoffmann (1906-1986). PhD (mathematics and physics), Princeton University, 1932. Member, Institute for Advanced Study (1935), where he was invited to assist Albert Einstein, along with Leopold Infeld, on aspects of Einstein's general theory of relativity. Hoffmann and Einstein were friends as well as professional colleagues, and Hoffman would later become Einstein's biographer.
