Shuhua Li papers, 1926-1972.
The Shuhua Li papers consist of incoming letters from Chinese education administrators to Li Shuhua dating from 1926 to 1972. Also included are letters from Wu Zhihui and Li Shizeng , two of the Four Elders who were fierce anti-Communist members of the Chinese Nationalist Party. Other well-known correspondents include Cai Yuanpei and Hu Shih. The topics discussed in the letters include higher education policies, changes in the various universities, and political changes in China as well as other personal matters.

Professional experience includes: professor of physics, Peking University (-1930); acting president, University Franco-Chinois in Peking (1926-1928); acting president, vice president, Peiping University (1928-1949); vice minister and minister, Ministry of Education (1930-1931); member, director of the research council, Academia Sinica (1935-circa 1943); chairman of the board of directors, Chinese Society of Physics; Chinese Society of Astronomers; board of directors, Beijing Natural History Museum; Beijing National Central Museum; Peiping Palace Museum.
