APS Texas Section records 1980-2017.
This collection contains the records of the Texas Section of American Physical Society, which includes administrative files, conference and annual meeting programs, awards, executive committee elections and meeting information, financial records, and the personal records of 1987-1989 Chairperson, Stephen Baker. In addition, various miscellaneous files include interactions with the main office of APS, participation and awards in Texas science fairs, and APS News articles with annotations made by TSAPS members.
The American Physical Society Texas Section was established in 1982 and works to promote the physical sciences for students, teachers, and scientists in the state of Texas. TSAPS partners closely with organizations such as the Texas Section of the American Association of Physics Teachers (TSAAPT) and the Society of Physics Students (SPS); spring and fall joint meetings are held throughout Texas each year.
