Donald M. Hunten papers, 1925-2011 (bulk 1946-2010).
The bulk of this collection consists of 25 notebooks. The majority are related to his career as an astronomical researcher at the University Saskatchewan, Kitt Peak Observatory and the University of Arizona. Subjects covered in notebooks include asteroids, auroras, nuclear magnetism, polarization, and space imagery.
PhD from McGill University (1950); Assistant Professor, University of Saskatchewan; moved to Kitt Peak National Observatory (1963); moved to University of Arizona and the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory (1974) where he continued work on planetary atmosphere and became a Professor and eventually Regents Professor of Planetary Sciences (1977-2001).
