Correspondence, primarily between Albert A. Bartlett, president of the American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) and Norman F. Ramsey, president of the American Physical Society (APS), regarding a committee to determine the future of the joint AAPT/APS annual meeting. W. W. Havens, Jr. chaired the committee.
This professional society of teachers of physics in colleges, universities, and secondary schools, as well as graduate and undergraduate students, was established in 1930 to advance the teaching of physics and further the appreciation of the role of physics in society and culture. It was a founding Member Society of the American Institute of Physics.
