This collection comprises oral history interviews conducted with 97 prominent faculty and administrators of the University of California, Irvine (UCI) by Samuel C. McCulloch. Materials include audio recordings of the interviews, transcripts, and signed agreement forms, correspondence and other material. The collection includes interviews with Kenneth Ford (1974, November 13) and Frederick Reines (1990, May 31).

Research Assistant at Los Alamos, Princeton, and Indiana University; Professor of physics, Indiana University (1954-1958); Professor of physics at Brandeis University (1958-1964), the University of California, Irvine (1964-1970), and the University of Massachusetts (1970-1975). Director, American Institute of Physics (1987-1993).
Frederick Reines, American physicist (nuclear fission, free neutrons, cosmic rays). Professor emeritus of physics and radiological science at University of California Irvine. Nobel laureate.
