Earth Observing System records, 1988-1990.
The Earth Observing System record group, 1988-1990, consists of documents needed for planning and producing systems and hardware to provide orbiters and equipment for gathering global climatic data. The main types of records include: schedules, plans, minutes, agendas, correspondence and reports.
The NASA Earth Observing System (EOS) program was conceived in the 1980s and began to take shape in the early 1990s. EOS is comprised of a series of coordinated polar-orbiting satellites designed to monitor and understand key components of the climate system and their interactions through long-term global observations.
