The report includes a discussion of all recommendations, facilities, evaluations of proposals and new adeas submitted to the subpanel, international collaboration, manpower, funding requirements and a list of subpanel membership.
This Subpanel on New Facilities for the U.S. High Energy Physics convened in February 1983 and submitted its recommendations to the High Energy Physics Adviosry Panel (HEPAP) in July 1983. The subpanel recommended, among other things, that the Colliding Beam Accelerator project at Brookhaven National Laboratory not be approved, and that the Superconducting Super Collider be initiated at the earliest possible date.
