March 4 teach-in, 1989.
This recording documents a 1989 teach-in on the theme of "scientists, students, and society 1969-1989". This teach-in was held on the 20th anniversary of the historic March 4, 1969 teach-in in support of nuclear disarmament, which was closely related to the formation of the Union of Concerned Scientists. The 1989 teach-in was held in conjunction with the opening of an art exhibition on "the military and the university".
This teach-in was organized by a committee of MIT students and faculty, in conjunction with the Seminar on Technology and Culture at MIT.
