Tom Gehrels papers, 1894-2011 (bulk 1961-2000).
This collection is comprised of mostly professional papers and some personal papers of astronomer Tom Gehrels. The bulk of the material relates to his career as a professor and astronomical researcher at the University of Arizona and consists of correspondence with other astronomers, scientists, state and federal politicians amassed during his career at the Lunar and Planetary Laboratory and the Department of Planetary Sciences at the University of Arizona. Topics include astronomy, asteroids, comets, photometry, the Pioneer space probe, and polarization. Correspondents include Bart Bok, Gerard Kuiper, and Wernher Von Braun, among many others.
