Marjorie Rhodes Townsend papers, 1961-1994.

Aerospace engineer, NASA project manager. Received B. E. E. degree at George Washington University in 1951. Worked for the Naval Research Laboratory, 1951-1959 and for NASA-Goddard Space Flight Center, 1959-1980. Was project manager for Small Astronomy Satellites, 1966-1975 and for Applications Explorer Missions, 1975-1976. Recipient, NASA Exceptional Service Medal, 1971; NASA Outstanding Leadership Medal, 1980; named Knight of the Italian Republic Order, 1972.
