Davey, Wheeler P. (Wheeler Pedlar), 1886
Wheeler P. Davey notebooks [microform], 1914-1926.
Notebooks and correspondence. The notebooks (12 items, 1914-1916) are microfilms of Davey's research notebooks while a physicist at General Electric, covering x-ray investigations of ion-packing and crystal structure, corrosion-resistant metal varnish, effects of x-rays on biological specimens, structures of organic compounds, fluorescent screens, investigations of conduction, insulation and the properties of dielectrics, rust-proofing and lubricating oils, and the growth of metallic crystals. The correspondence (circa 80 items, 1927-1957, 1964) includes letters to and from Dan McLachlan on the subject of their co-authorship of two books on crystal structures and x-ray applications; the remainder of the correspondence contains letters between Davey and the American Zinc Company on research and personal matters.
Physicist (physical chemistry, crystallography, industrial research). On the physics faculty at Pennsylvania State College, 1909-1911 and from 1926; at Cornell University, 1911-1914; and physicist, General Electric Company, 1914-1926.
