Papers of Peter T. Demos, founder and director of the Bates Linear Accelerator and professor at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The collection consists primarily of reports, technical specifications for the LINAC, including planning files, and correspondence about the LINAC and its construction and operations. A small amount of physics course notes, writings, and teaching slides created by Demos, as well as his appointment books from 1940 to 1987, are also included.
