Albert Einstein, was a theoretical physicist. He was affiliated with the Institute for Advanced Study's School of Mathematics from 1932-1955.
Josef Scharl, Munich-born artist. He and Albert Einstein met in Berlin in 1927. Both were forced, due to the political climate in Europe, into exile. Various factors, including proximity (Scharl settled in New York and Einstein in New Jersey) brought them together, and they developed a close relationship.
