Blackwood, James R. (James Russell)
James R. Blackwood collection related to Albert Einstein, 1934-1997 (bulk 1934-1935).
The collection consists chiefly of correspondence in English and German dating from 1934-1936. These materials are the result of the personal relationship between Andrew W. Blackwood and his wife, Carolyn P. Blackwood, and Albert Einstein and his second wife, Elsa, and were received by the Blackwoods from the Einsteins. The collection includes various other materials, such as an article by James R. Blackwood entitled, The Einsteins as Princeton Neighbors, published in the The Princeton Seminary Bulletin (v. 3, no. 1 (1980)), a card that accompanied a gift from the Einsteins to the Blackwoods, and correspondence regarding trunks of belongings that the Blackwoods received on behalf of the Einsteins.
