This collection contains materials related to the professional career of James F. Bell in solid mechanics, biomedical research and the physics of music. The bulk of this collection consists of Bell's research materials. Included are data and graphs from more than 2,300 tests and experiments spanning his entire career. The tests are indexed booth by number and test subject. Also included are materials related to Bell's work on the Rubik cube, patents, laboratory notebooks, lecture notes from courses he taught at Johns Hopkins University and the Peabody Conservatory, lectures he gave at other institutions, published papers, reviews and translations of Bell's work, grant materials, correspondence, and Bell's coments on work by his students and other scientists.
