John G. Kemeny papers consist of personal and professional correspondence; reprints of journal articles written by Kemeny; speeches given while president of Dartmouth; magazines, newspaper clippings, and Dartmouth publications; a rough draft of Kemeny's autobiography; daily schedules while president of Dartmouth; and numerous publications and reports relating to the nuclear accident at Three Mile Island. Of note is a circa 1948 proof in Albert Einstein's hand corrected by Kemeny.
Hungarian-American mathematician, computer scientist, and educator. Professor of mathematics, college president, Dartmouth College (1953-1989). Co-inventor of the BASIC programming language.
